This means borrowing costs will increase across the board for families everywhere. Lines of credit, credit cards, student loans, car loans, and yes, MORTGAGE LOANS will have increased rates. Even before this, the 30 yr fixed interest rate was almost 2.5% points HIGHER than the same time last year.
